Went hardcore thrifting today and I bought 14 different pieces.
The highlight of my 30 minute adventure:
- Lightweight tuxedo style vintage blazer with a silk collar.
- Silk lined navy blue vintage men's blazer complete with brass buttons.
- 3 men's button up shirts (1 polyester, 1 linen/cotton and 1 silk/cotton)
- Caramel with white spots vintage dress that looks like I nicked it from the set of Pretty Woman (not from her hookering phase)
- THIS FANTASTICALLY SUPERFICIALLY OVER THE TOP HOT PINK vintage wiggle dress
- A vest that looks Alexander Wangesque
- An artsy fartsy art deco black leather bag. It's outrageous, just wait until I take pictures, you'll see what I mean.
As much as I love androgynous and structured clothing in black and white, for me it's just so liberating to put on a vintage dress and embrace my femininity. I admire designers who push towards the future and make futuristic/almost bionic designs, but I adore designers who look back to the fashion of yesteryear and find inspiration.
I can't wait for my mother to get home from California because she ninja'd the good digital camera. Until then I'll have to live with taking extremely grainy pictures with the camera on my phone :(.
